After licensees execute a Frequency Reconfiguration Agreement (FRA) with Sprint Nextel, the reconfiguration
implementation, or physical retuning, phase begins. Reconfiguration implementation consists of:
- replacement and retuning of subscriber equipment;
- retuning of base stations to the licensee's new channel assignments and commencement of system operations
on the new channels (sometimes referred to as the system "cutover"); and
- additional post-cutover system modifications (e.g., disposal of temporary or legacy equipment, removal of
pre-rebanding channels from subscriber units, where appropriate).
NPSPAC licensees should initiate specific tasks and activities associated with these implementation steps as early
in the rebanding process as possible. Some tasks associated with implementation can be initiated prior to the conclusion
of FRA negotiations (i.e., under the Subscriber Equipment Deployment (SED) program).
For more information, please visit the Reconfiguration Implementation Phase section of the Online Reference Guide (also known as the Reconfiguration Handbook).

As part of implementation preparation (in certain, but not all, areas), the TA is conducting a series of Implementation Planning Sessions
(IPSs) for NPSPAC and related Expansion Band licensees on a regional or statewide basis.
