APCO Honorary Member, Weldon Joe Blair joins the TA


June 28, 2005, Washington, D.C. - We are pleased to announce that Mr. Weldon Joe Blair has joined the 800 MHz Transition Administrator. Joe comes to the TA with over 40 years of communications industry experience encompassing project integration management, engineering for mobile data, wireless networks, and computer systems for public safety agencies. Prior to joining the TA, Joe managed the completion of the mobile data system for the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport as well as the integration, installation, and training of a 300-car mobile data system for the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA).

Joe is a lifetime member of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) where he has served in a number of leadership positions at both a local and national level. APCO created and awarded Joe the "Weldon Joe Blair Award," which recognizes leadership and service within APCO. Joe also formerly served on the FCC Region 40 Public Safety Planning Committee. With his breadth of knowledge and expertise in the Public Safety market, Joe will be instrumental in supporting the 800 MHz Reconfiguration Program.
