800 MHz Transition Administrator Announces the Release of New Request for Planning Funding (RFPF) Documents
November 21, 2005, Washington, D.C. - 800 MHz Transition Administrator, LLC (“TA”) today announced the release of a new Request for Planning Funding (RFPF) package, consisting of four documents designed to provide further guidance to licensees in preparing for negotiation with Sprint Nextel to reach a Planning Funding Agreement (PFA).
Licensees who have already drafted, completed or submitted an RFPF form and accompanying SOW or entered into a Planning Funding Agreement (PFA) with Sprint Nextel do not need to resubmit forms using this new template.
The “Instructions for Completing the RFPF and Supporting Documentation” outlines step-bystep instructions to guide licensees in providing the necessary planning and cost details to Sprint Nextel. The “RFPF Template” is a Word document that can be tailored by licensees to provide all necessary information required in the RFPF request. To provide licensees an example of activities and cost details required in the RFPF Form and supporting SOW, two “completed” sample packages are provided – one for a large/medium system and one for a small system.
The TA is pleased to provide additional resources and guidance to assist licensees as they request planning funding. Our goal is to make this process as easy as possible for licensees. “By following the guidance and examples provided, licensees should have the tools necessary to complete the RFPF Template quickly and easily and be comfortable with the level of detail necessary to satisfy the process”, said Brett Haan, Deputy Program Manager, 800 MHz Transition Administrator.
To learn more about the RFPF process and available resources, please refer to the TA’s website at www.800TA.org or participate in an RFPF Webinar (web based training). Refer to http://www.800TA.org/content/news/webinars.asp to view the Webinar schedule and register.
Please contact the TA Contact Center at 888-800-8220 or comments@800TA.org with any questions.
